                                                 PRETTY GIRLS BY KARIN SLAUGHTER

What this book is about : Claire and Lydia's sister Julia went missing back when they were just teenagers the police had no leads the local sheriff was convinced that their sister just ran away after a wile everyone in town started to believe it too and Julia was forgotten about by everyone except her family .Julia's disappearance tore them apart life moved on for each of them Lydia and Claire never spoke again Claire married the love of her life Lydia opened up her own business grooming animals and raising her teenage daughter Dee . Claire's perfect life start to crumble she discovers secrets about her prince charming that bring her and Lydia crashing back into the same space .secrets of the past and secrets about the present will help  bring everyone back together not just the estranged sister but everyone  get the answers they have been searching for .

What I liked :This book had so many twists and turns that it was hard to keep up one minute I would think I had all the answers figured out and the next it was like a punch to the stomach a surprise I wasn't expecting or an answer I had though of that I had ruled out that ended up being the answer in the next chapter . This book was dark in spots well more than in spots most of the book had a dark depressing theme which I was happy because the author wasn't afraid to let it get dark and stay dark . The story was slow at first and it built up momentum .I never felt like the author was trying to shock me by the things she wrote it was more like a matter of fact way the book was written like you would believe the story if the story had actually been real .I loved that at the end all my questions had been answered and all loose ends tied up and the bad guy had been punished to my satisfaction which some authors don't do . This book was very dark so to say that I liked it makes me feel a little creepy but I did like it and I think that if you are looking for a book with thrills and chills and suspense this is the book for you . This book made me start wondering whether or not I could even trust my cat .

My favorite character : Sam carol the father in this story because of his unending kindness and unwillingness to give up and his point of view of everything was sweet and sad in a way .I liked the way he thought and rationalized things and the way he loved his family so much .
